3 bedroom Duplex in Cavallino Treporti, Venice, Italy

Cavallino Treporti Venice Italy

Listing ID: EPV003014

We are in the shimmering Venetian lagoon and precisely in Cavallino Treporti at sunset, the sun, fiery and red, caresses the sea. The only silhouette on the horizon is the small silhouette of a distant and silent ‘batela’. In front of us is the quaint little house that we visit.
The façade of a soft blue with large windows with blue shutters welcomes us into the small garden of almost 40 metres, all tiled in old terracotta and shaded by practical curtains, suitable both for enjoying these last minutes of sunshine before the start of a pleasant evening and for sunbathing as soon as the sun peeps out again
We are not in time to enter when the ancient oriental style, typical of the Serenissima, pleasantly greets us. To our left we notice a neoclassical marble column without grooves, which juxtaposes well with the elegant and bright living area.
All the flooring on the ground floor is in a pleasant and elegant Venetian grit in which furnishings have been skilfully inserted to contrast with the whiteness of the room, creating a harmonious alternation of light and dark.
We open the glass sliding door, decorated in a chromatic chessboard pattern by a master glassmaker from Murano, to look out onto the corridor. From here we have access to the kitchen, which overlooks the house’s other small garden, also entirely paved in antique terracotta, shaded by an awning and with an exit to a side street. On the same floor there is also a first comfortable small bedroom, ideal as an office or to accommodate friends and acquaintances, and a windowed bathroom with shower and the irreplaceable storeroom.
From the stairs covered with typical Venetian majolica tiles decorated by hand with floral motifs, we ascend to the first floor. Where we immediately notice the elegant wooden parquet floors. Here we find a large double bedroom that enjoys a priceless view of the sea and is furnished with period furniture and a four-poster bed that takes us back in time to distant times, bringing back the elegance of the eighteenth century. The other room is also a double room, which is also quite cosy if we consider the space required to place two beds, a bookcase and a desk for study.
Completing the floor is the second windowed bathroom, with a shower stall and a bathtub with hydromassage, which is a riot of white and ammonitic red marble.
Between the suggestion of living in an era as remote as it is present, with elegant features, excellently cared for and maintained, the use of materials of exceptional quality, both antique and contemporary – think of the lanterns that dominate the terrace, the neoclassical column, the entrance shutters reminiscent of those on a sailboat, the glassy colours of the sliding door in the corridor, combined with the location, which allows you to enjoy one of the most beautiful and characteristic sunsets in Italy – the only thing left is a view of the eclectic tasteful cottage to appreciate and decide where to spend your next holiday or the everyday of your life.
