The current layout for the villa is for five bedrooms, five bathrooms, two reception rooms and an open-plan kitchen. As the new owner, you could decide on the final floor layout. The attached floor plan shows an alternative layout with as nine bedrooms as possible if to run as an investment property for maximum lettings.
In addition, a separate outbuilding of 18 sq m is possible to convert to an additional bedroom ensuite.
The area is tranquil, with olive groves. On the quiet country lane, are no traffic and about ten properties. Next door neighbour is French, and further up the road is a well-known B & B.
The country lane takes you quickly to the main road leading to the coastal motorway and Torre Guaceto Nature Reserve, the nearest beaches reached in 10 minutes. It is also close to Apani, with lovely beaches and a great beach club.
The nearest town is San Vito dei Normanni, reached in 10 minutes. The city has two principal squares, many bars and cafes and restaurants. Here you will find several supermarkets like La Famila, Eurospin, Penny Market and Lidl.
The best shopping is in nearby Brindisi, from where easy to take the train to Lecce – the Florence of the South – or Bari. Brindisi also has ferry traffic to Corfu in Greece and Albania. For a social life, just a few minutes to the village bar/cafe and a grocery store, this is the meeting point for all locals and ex-pats alike!LIFESTYLE AND WHAT DO DO IN THE AREA
Everyone in the local residential area and the Serranova village know each other, and you can expect a visit from the local farmers bringing locally grown produce.
The area has many small towns, restaurants, and bars.
You and your guests may come to the villa and location for different reasons. You may cycle and walk, taking in all the Roman history from the area. Some come to take in the winter sun and chill out, others what to crash out at the beach or pool.If you go to the beach late at night, you might see the locals wading into the water to catch sea life. Watching them with little lamps strapped to their heads, their net on the back, olive oil in an old washing-up liquid bottle, and a spear is funny. They squirt a little drop of olive oil on the surface, and the squid goes crazy!!!The surrounding area has no buildings or more than two stores, so no large hotels, condos or apartment blocks.
Torre Guaceto is a nature reserve of 22.000 sq. km. A visitor’s centre on the main street tells you about the area. Serranova is the centre of the account.
Torre Guaceto offers a beautiful light and noise-pollution-free environment. Still, within ten minutes, you can be in the lively seaside resorts of Santa Sabina and Specchiola. The beaches are ideal family places. With shallow coves and protected areas, visiting the beach is a pleasure. The beaches are deserted in the winter and very rarely busy at other times. July and August get busy with Italians from the North, but the whole experience of watching Italian families interact is excellent. The ancient olive tree forest surrounding Serranova is magnificent and fantastic to cycle or drive through. The tree’s roots come from the ground like twisted legs, and the branches resemble arms. The thick trunks are scored and have large knots almost look like faces; it reminds you of the trees in the Lord of the Rings.
When you drive through the nature reserve close by, you are almost deafened by the noise of the crickets sitting in the trees. If your holiday is not just for the sun, you are interested in walking and cycling. Unlike other areas of Apulia, Serranova and Torre Guaceto is flat land. There is one main dual carriageway down the coast, and the rest of the roads have been unchanged for hundreds of years. The olives are handpicked from December to February to ensure they produce the best grade of extra virgin olive oil. The owners take the olives to the local Cooperative in Serranova to be pressed. You can visit the Cooperative and see if the olives have been processed.Holiday in southern Italy in April and May. The warm temperature and evening rain turn the hedgerows and fields around Torre Guaceto and serranova into a spectacular site of colours-wild flowers of all shapes and sizes. The beaches are small and exclusive, and no hotels or fast food places are in the area for 20 km Bliss!!!! Mobile food and drink units go to the beach in the summer, which is the best of both worlds.Apulia rises in altitude the further North you go. The area around Torre Guaceto, from the southern tip of the heel up to Serra Nova, is very flat. Once you get to Ostuni, the landscape changes.
