At the top of a hill is a castle, on the other a star-shaped fort. Between the two, the houses of Castro Marim are spread, with their colorful parapets, their flat roofs and their ornate chimneys carved in lacy patterns. All around, the dark brown of the shale, enhanced by the cool blue of the river and, on the horizon, the sea.

Historic Center

Connecting the church, the castle and the fort, the streets of Castro Marim are flanked by houses whose simplicity is typical of the architecture of

the Algarve. White predominates, broken here and there by bright ochres and blues. The parapets of the houses reflect the taste for geometric patterns and floral motifs.

The Grouse is the newest of the three nine holes with the widest views of the inland hills. Although it only opened in 2008, it is already quite mature. It has undulating terrain with fewer trees than the other two courses.

The courses are teeming with wildlife, including wild boars, birds and rabbits. Some lucky property owners even spotted the elusive Iberian lynx at The Grouse Course while playing early in the morning.

Campo do Guadiana is a delight, set among beautiful pine trees.

Fast and true greens, several of them elevated and protected by bunkers, inviting high tees and dogleg fairways carved into gorges are characteristic of the course.

DESCRIPTION

Village Houses share a large pool nearby and a tropical pool with snack bar and terraces. The village lifestyle is great for families who want to meet other people and make friends.

The properties are built to very high specifications and offer a choice of two or three bedroom homes. They are smaller than our semi-detached villages, but have the advantage of being independent.

All houses in the Village have air conditioning units to cool off in the summer. These can change to warm air in winter and there is a fireplace for cozy evenings.

The accessories and furniture are of a high standard with granite work surfaces and quality utensils in the kitchen.
