Case €1 Zungoli

Zungoli is a town in the province of Avellino, Campania in Southern Italy. It lies about 58 kilometres north east of the town of Avellino. The city of Naples (Napoli) is about 110kms away and can be reached in about one and a half hours by car. About the same distance is the popular coastal town, Sorrento and the start of the Amalfi coast.

Zungoli is located in the historical Irpinia district. The focal point of the town is a fortress surrounded by cobbled streets and bare stone houses.

On the 7th August 2020 the mayor, Paolo Caruso, announced a draw or ‘lotto’ for an allocation of just fourteen €1 houses. Individuals and families (both Italian and foreigners) could submit applications no later than 60 days following the announcement. Applications would be judged on a point scoring basis to ensure houses would be allocated to the most worthy applicants. The houses must be made habitable within 3 years.

At the time of writing we believe more houses will be made available under the scheme.
